What is Net Salary Calculator?

A tool that calculates the “monthly take-home pay” actually deposited to your account each month, after subtracting Korea's four major insurances (national pension, health insurance, employment insurance) and income tax from the annual salary on your contract. Because the salary figure is a pre-tax amount, it differs quite a bit from what lands in hand. It is useful for gauging “so what is the monthly pay” ahead of a job change or salary negotiation, or for checking whether the deductions on a received pay slip are correct.

How it works

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it match my actual pay exactly? ⌄

It is an estimate based on the simplified tax table. Tax-free allowances such as meal allowances and each company's benefits and deductions can make it differ somewhat from your actual slip, so treat it as “roughly this much.”

Why do I enter the number of dependents? ⌄

Simplified earned-income tax depends on the number of dependents. Entering the family members you support along with yourself reflects income tax more accurately and sharpens the take-home estimate.

At what rates are the four insurances deducted? ⌄

Roughly, the employee's share is national pension 4.5%, health insurance about 3.5% (with long-term care added on top), and employment insurance around 0.9%. The rates change slightly each year, and the calculator applies the latest standard.

Is the salary I enter exposed externally? ⌄
